Singapore's heat and humidity are among the harshest conditions for car batteries in the world. Regular battery checks prevent unexpected breakdowns — especially in the middle of Singapore's busy roads.
Battery failure is the single most common cause of roadside breakdowns in Singapore. The combination of high heat, humidity, and short-trip city driving is particularly harsh on car batteries — accelerating plate degradation and reducing battery life to just 2–3 years in some cases.
Modern vehicles are dependent on battery voltage for everything from engine management and fuel injection to ADAS features, electric power steering, and transmission control. A weak battery causes erratic electronic behaviour, false warning lights, and can corrupt ECU settings.
Slow cranking when starting the engine, headlights dimming when idling, battery warning light on the dashboard, electrical accessories behaving erratically, needing jump starts, or a battery older than 3 years — all are signs you should have your battery load-tested immediately.
Battery failure rarely gives much warning. A battery that tests fine one month can fail completely the next. Annual battery load testing — especially after 2.5 years — gives you the advance warning to replace it on your schedule, not the roadside's schedule.
Battery voltage and terminal condition are checked as part of our 14-point safety inspection. Don't wait for a breakdown.
